Lying in bed the other night, we had a terrific thunderstorm. It banged and cracked overhead for almost two hours. Normally storms seem to move off after a while but this just parked itself over the house and didn’t move for ages. So I got out of bed and opened the bedroom doors to take some pictures of the lightning.
It was funny lightning – not forked lightning but massive sheet lightning that lit up the entire sky. So, below there are three pictures taken in the middle of the night when it was pitch dark. One taken without the lightning, the other two taken just as the lightning cracked and completely lit up the sky. Those two pictures look as though they were taken in the daytime. Bizarre!
The storm finally moved away about 3.00 in the morning and I was tired the next day. But very happy with my pictures! Here they are…
